A musical re-union: Love-Cars come together to play together

I considered it to be the biggest tragedy of life that when I first heard Love-Cars the first time, they were no more together as a band and had stopped performing live. Perhaps I felt a pool of talent had gone waste and nothing could be done to revive it. My melancholy knew no bounds. But it was then.

This weekend my joy knew no extent when I heard the news that the enigmatic and mesmerizing band Love-Cars had agreed to come together and perform for the Triple Rock Concert. Almost from the moment they had walked on the stage, there was a certain aura of mystery and subtleness and a sweet charm about them and their music left the people spell-bound.

The fact that they hadn’t not played together or performed live for quite some time did not affect their music one bit and they were the pros that they had always been . James Diers and Matthew Foust were magnanimous behind the guitar and provided electrifying sounds and soothing whispers in between the amazing lyrics and as usual Dave King was amazing behind the kit. The audience went eclectic when the guys strummed their guitar to the tunes of the best songs in their bestseller album Thank you For Telling Me What I Already Know.

The audience at Triple Rock were very responsive and every performer’s dream audience. They raised their glasses and sang along through the evening and couldn’t get enough of the encore performances.
